Job SummaryThe Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and other materials. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and measurements Constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures such as cabinets, doors, window frames, staircases, and furniture Selecting materials and tools required for each project Safely using hand and power tools including saws, drills, sanders, and nail guns Collaborating with other construction professionals such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers Ensuring all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and up to code Performing routine maintenance on tools and equipmentRequirements Grade 12 Technical qualification in carpentry or related is a requirement Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a Carpenter Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Proficient with hand and power tools Excellent communication and teamwork skills Physical stamina and strength to lift and carry heavy materials Valid driver's license and reliable transportationPreferred Qualifications Certification in Carpentry or related field Prior experience working in commercial or residential construction Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures
