Big Data Solutions Architect

Job Purpose:The Big Data Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, high-performance data architectures that support enterprise analytics, AI, and data-driven decision-making. This role defines the strategy and technical blueprint for ingesting, storing, processing, and integrating large and complex datasets from diverse sources using modern big data platforms and cloud technologies.The Data Architect collaborates with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure the data ecosystem is secure, reliable, and optimized for speed, volume, and variety, enabling the organization to leverage data as a strategic asset.Role and ResponsibilitiesSolid understanding of building blocks of modern data and analytics platform - Data Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Fabric, Data Mesh, Active metadata & etc.Design and implement data architecture solutions for deployment on cloud, hybrid and multi-cloud environments, specifically on Cloudera CDP , Google Cloud Platform preferredDevelopment of end-to-end architecture for data engineering and analytics to support business analysis and decision makingDesigning, developing high performance and scalable data engineering and BI & advanced analytical solutionsAssess current and target architecture, and ensure solutions provided are in alignment with the roadmapDefine data architecture, governance, data security/privacy principles and enhance existing principles to meet target architectureSolution design for building DataOps and MLOps platformsUnderstand and analyze data source systems and design efficient and scalable data pipeline solutions for acquisition and ingestion into Datalake and Data warehouseEvaluation of data related technologies, and defining best practices in the assessments of standards, tools and methodologies including ETL development, to perform hands on data analysisSolution design for performant and scalable architectureContinuously monitor and improve performance of database design, pipelines and analytics components through performance tuningDesign and build metadata and data catalogue for Data and Analytics platform covering technical, operational & business glossary.Design and implement unified active metadata layer across Data & Analytics platform repositoriesGood understanding of Data modelling processes, techniques - conceptual, logical, physicalQualifications and Education RequirementsBachelors or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent7+ years in design & development experience in enterprise data warehousing and analytics projectsTOGAF, DAMA or other industry recognized architecture certifications preferredData engineering, Architecture related certificatesCloud platform certifications, specifically Google Cloud Platform preferredCloudera CDP platform certifications.
