The Lancashire & South Cumbria Pathology Service (L&SCPS) is bringing together pathology services from across the region to form a single, integrated network — one that will deliver high-quality, efficient, and sustainable diagnostic services for our patients and clinicians.As part of this exciting transformation, the L&SCPS Digital Team is leading a number of cutting-edge digital programmes designed to modernise and connect our services. Central to this is the implementation of a Network-wide Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) — a single, state-of-the-art platform that will provide a unified way of working across all laboratories in Lancashire and South Cumbria.We are seeking dedicated Discipline Specialists or Digital Technical Specialists with a passion for digital innovation and a solid understanding of LIMS and associated laboratory workflows.You will coordinate a team of Trust Discipline Representatives to gather and interpret data that will directly inform the design and build of the new system. You will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of pathology services across our region.These Opportunities Are Offered On a Secondment Basis And Are Open To Candidates Currently Employed Within One Of The Four Acute TrustsLancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation TrustEast Lancashire Hospitals NHS TrustUniversity Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation TrustBlackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation TrustYou will have extensive knowledge of the different aspects of Haematology workflows from dissection through to reporting. Working with Haematology Managers, Consultants and other stakeholders to deliver a standardised and harmonised system for LSC. You will use their knowledge and experience to guide, supervise and coordinate standardisation and harmonisation works required for digital projects.This is a major digital transformation programme to implement a single network wide LIMS and will be a key focus for your role.You will also be instrumental in scoping of future technological improvements to the Haematology service delivery including automation of laboratory processes. Ensuring that any solutions are compatible with and integrated to the core systems.Applicants should be HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientists and must have discussed their interest in applying with their line manager prior to submission.You will be joining a highly motivated and friendly team.
