Job Summary: At Bison Commerce, we are rapidly expanding our presence in the online furniture and décor market through both branded and white label/private label product offerings. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Private & White Label Manager to lead the development of our white label and private label brands across various online marketplaces in the US and Canada. This role combines brand strategy, product development, and cross-functional execution to deliver high-performing, customer-focused product lines. The ideal candidate will drive market research, define brand positioning and pricing strategies, and oversee execution from sourcing to launch.
Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments including marketing, purchasing, logistics, creative, and sales. You will play a key role in accelerating revenue growth, building brand equity, and driving long-term profitability through differentiated and data-informed product experiences. Key Responsibilities: Market Research & Opportunity IdentificationConduct ongoing market research to identify consumer trends, preferences, and category opportunities within the white label and private label landscape. Analyze sales and competitive data to understand purchasing behavior and uncover gaps where new products or brands could meet unmet needs.
Monitor internal performance and external market dynamics, providing actionable recommendations for new product development, line extensions, and promotional initiatives. Brand & Product StrategyDefine brand positioning, target audiences, and differentiation strategies for private label products. Develop brand architecture across multiple labels, ensuring alignment with overall company goals. Select product categories and SKUs based on market demand, profitability, and competitive benchmarking to sharpen brand value propositions. Product Development & SourcingManage product lifecycles from concept through launch, ensuring timely execution and cross-functional alignment.
Travel to and participate in trade shows to identify and source products and partnersCoordinate with manufacturers and suppliers on product selection, development, and purchase orders. Negotiate favorable contract terms with suppliers and partners to acquire and store productCollaborate with purchasing, marketing, marketplace, and product data teams to ensure smooth onboarding and successful market entry. Align product launches with brand strategy to ensure consistency across customer touchpoints and sales channels. Inventory & Logistics OversightForecast demand and coordinate with manufacturers to maintain optimal inventory levels. Monitor lead times, reordering processes, and fulfillment operations to ensure efficiency.
Troubleshoot supply chain and quality issues that could impact customer satisfaction or product availability. Content & MerchandisingEnsure product listings are optimized with high-quality content, SEO, and brand-consistent messaging. Partner with design and copy teams to create assets that effectively communicate product value and resonate with the target audience. Pricing, Profitability & Performance TrackingDevelop pricing strategies that reflect market trends, reinforce brand positioning, and achieve margin targets. Manage marketing and advertising budgets for assigned brands, ensuring spend aligns with revenue and profitability goals.
Manage brand‑level budgets and own revenue and margin targetsTrack and analyze key performance metrics—such as sales, ROI, and customer feedback—to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement. Prepare and present regular performance updates to the executive team, highlighting wins, challenges, and growth opportunities across the brand portfolio. Qualifications: Fluent in English: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and third-party service providers. Strong understanding of white label and private label strategies, with a focus on growing brands on online marketplaces.
An understanding of US markets and consumer trendsStrong analytical skills with experience in market research, data analysis, and consumer insights to inform product development and brand strategies. Experience with budget management and the ability to optimize spend in relation to revenue and margins. Strong leadership skills, with experience driving cross-functional collaboration.
