Your missionAs a Software Engineer at Bitpanda, you will have the opportunity to join one of several teams that build and maintain the back end systems that keep Bitpanda running - you could work within FinCrime Prevention, Payments Infrastructure, Digital Asset Systems or something else equally interesting.

You will get work on business critical projects, tackling architectural and conceptual challenges, integrate with 3rd party vendors and interface and collaborate with many other Engineers and teams within Bitpanda.

What you’ll doDesign and develop scalable, resilient, message-driven services using JavaWrite clean and correct code with high test coverage and extensive unit testing deployed into event driven microservices architectureContribute to conversational development, disseminating information to the rest of the teamOptimise systems to ensure reliability, performance, scalability and maintainabilityBuild strong relationships with cross functional teams and be happy discussing topics and challenges Who you areSolid knowledge and experience of software development using modern Java frameworks such as Spring Boot and Micronaut with Java 21+ as your main programming language.

Track record with both relational and non-relational databases, preferably Postgres and MongoDB. Experience creating and maintaining publicly available REST APIs with a keen understanding of performance optimisation and scalability. Practical knowledge in using message-oriented middleware (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ) as we’re working with event driven microservices. Background with CI/CD and familiarity with AWS, Terraform and Kubernetes.
