Job Description

Job Title: Blockchain Engineer — Energy Systems (1 Position)---About the JobWe are seeking a pragmatic and experienced Blockchain Engineer — Energy Systems to design, build and operate blockchain-based solutions for the energy domain (microgrids, asset tokenization, energy trading, carbon tracking, and smart metering). You will work at the intersection of distributed ledgers, IoT telemetry and energy business logic to deliver secure, auditable and production-ready systems that integrate with existing OT/IT stacks and cloud backends.---ResponsibilitiesSmart contract development: Design, implement and maintain smart contracts for energy applications (tokenized assets, payments, settlement, access control) on EVM-compatible chains and/or alternative stacks.Protocol & architecture: Define on-chain/off-chain architecture, data flows, and integration patterns for real-time or near-real-time energy use cases (metering, settlement, microgrid coordination).Oracles & external integration: Integrate reliable oracle/data feeds (price, telemetry, attestations) and build robust bridges between IoT telemetry, cloud services and the ledger.Security & audits: Apply secure smart-contract patterns, run static/dynamic analysis, coordinate audits and fix vulnerabilities; own secure key/certificate handling for on-device signing where required.Performance & cost optimisation: Design for gas-efficiency, batching, layer-2 usage, and minimize operational costs while preserving correctness and auditability.Backend & infra: Implement supporting backend services (indexers, relayers, guardians, oracles), CI/CD for contract lifecycle, and automated deployment pipelines.Standards & compliance: Implement and reuse relevant token and identity standards (ERC, EIP, DID) and help the team comply with regulatory, data-privacy and sector rules.Testing & observability: Build comprehensive unit/integration tests, simulation frameworks and production monitoring for on-chain and off-chain components.Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product, hardware/IoT, cloud and operations teams to translate energy domain requirements into robust technical solutions.Documentation & knowledge sharing: Produce architecture docs, runbooks and developer guides; mentor colleagues on secure and effective blockchain practices.---QualificationsExperience: 3+ years developing blockchain systems, including at least one production smart-contract deployment. Experience focused on energy/utility domain is a strong plus.Smart contract skills: Strong proficiency in Solidity and EVM toolchain (Hardhat/Foundry/Truffle). Familiarity with Rust/Substrate or other decentralized stacks is a plus.Back-end & infra: Comfortable building backend services in Node.js/Python/Go and working with databases, message queues and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).Web3 tooling: Hands-on experience with oracles (e.g., Chainlink), wallets/signing flows, wallets integrations, relayers, indexers and block explorers.Security mindset: Knowledge of smart-contract security best practices, common vulnerabilities (reentrancy, overflow, front-running) and mitigation patterns; familiarity with audit workflows.Cloud & DevOps: Familiar with at least one cloud provider (AWS/GCP/Azure) and IaC, CI/CD pipelines for contract and service delivery.Data & integrations: Experience integrating IoT telemetry and building reliable off-chain data ingestion/validation flows.Communication: Strong English communication skills; able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.---Nice to HaveDomain experience in energy systems, utilities, microgrids, metering, or DER operations.Familiarity with Layer-2 solutions (Optimism, Arbitrum), sidechains, zk-rollups or state channels.Experience with Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, or enterprise DLT stacks.Knowledge of tokenomics, on-chain governance and financial settlement systems. Background in cryptography, PKI, or post-quantum readiness.---How to ApplyPlease apply with your CV, brief cover note, and links to relevant repos, deployed contracts or project demonstrations (GitHub, Etherscan, portfolio). In your note, include one short example of a blockchain project you built (technical role, challenges, outcomes). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
