Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager Blueflite at their office in Darwin, NT. Responsibilities include identifying commercial and grant funding opportunities, conducting demo flights for potential customers, and acting as the main contact for existing customers. The successful candidate will also support Blueflite’s research activities with Charles Darwin University (CDU), while playing a lead role in Australian operations and contributing to Blueflite’s broader international activities. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic PlanningContribute to the development of the Australian business strategy, aligning with overall company goals.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market analysis and customer feedback. Business DevelopmentIdentify and engage potential customers, partners, and stakeholders to expand Blueflite's commercial activities. Develop and execute effective sales strategies to generate revenue and achieve growth targets. Build long-term client relationships to ensure high satisfaction and retention. Report on industry trends and the competitive landscape to identify new opportunities. Plan and execute product demonstrations (requires drone pilot licence). Work with Blueflite colleagues to prepare proposals for prospective clients. Grant Application DevelopmentIdentify relevant grant opportunities from government bodies, industry associations, and research organisations.
Prepare and submit grant applications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to submission guidelines. Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and data. R&D ManagementCoordinate, manage and track collaborative research and development projects and budgets, including ongoing activities with Charles Darwin University (CDU). Support preparation and submission of project reports. Provide guidance to the research team to ensure successful project execution. Evaluate innovative technologies and processes to enhance Blueflite's products and services. Certification OversightCollaborate with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and CDU to progress Blueflite’s drone certification.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards for drone operations. Qualifications and ExperienceWe don’t expect every candidate to meet all criteria.
