We are a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation currently undergoing a significant period of transformation and growth. With a recent $13 million federal funding commitment for a major expansion project, and a strong focus on enhancing our corporate maturity, governance, and financial sustainability, it's an incredibly exciting time to join our team.The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and passionate individual to join our Board of Directors. This is a critical role that will directly influence the strategic direction of DRR during this pivotal phase. We have identified key experience gaps within our current Board and are particularly eager to welcome a Director with expertise in Legal, Marketing, or Tourism. Your professional insights in these areas will be invaluable as we navigate complex projects, enhance our public profile, and strengthen our position in the tourism market.Key Responsibilities & DutiesAttend monthly Board meetings, actively contributing to strategic discussions and decision-making.Provide expert guidance and oversight in your area of specialisation (Legal, Marketing, or Tourism), helping to shape DRR's policies, projects, and public engagement strategies.Contribute to the strategic oversight of the $13 million Federal Funding Expansion Plan, ensuring its alignment with DRR's mission and operational realities.Assist in building and maintaining strong relationships with DRR's diverse membership base and external stakeholders.Support the President and the Board in establishing robust governance frameworks and financial processes.Adhere to the principles outlined in the DRR Constitution and Board Delegations Manual.Potentially participate in relevant sub-committees or working groups aligned with your expertise.Anticipated Impact & Why Volunteer with Us: This is more than just a volunteer role; it's an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on a significant Tasmanian heritage asset.
