Position Title: BookkeeperReports To: Group Financial ControllerDirect Reports: NoneLocation:  Lisbon, PortugalJob Description:To maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records of all the Gruvi Group entities, ensuring all day-to-day transactions are recorded correctly and on time. The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations, and supporting the month-end close process. This position requires strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with various departments to collect information. The bookkeeping will be completed on Xero software for each entity within the Gruvi group and in addition, duplicated within TOCOnline for the Portuguese entity.Key Responsibilities and Duties:Process Accounts Payable (AP) accurately and on schedule. Highlightly missing invoices and costs.Process Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions accurately and on schedule. Raising invoices to customers, across all entities, noting receipts timely and responding to customer queries.Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers.Support employee travel and expense claims — collect receipts, verify compliance, and enter transactions. Report actual spend and compare to budget/request.Assist in month-end preparation — coding, reconciliations, accruals, and journals.Maintain bank reconciliations.Prepare and submit VAT and other statutory filings under supervisionMonitor and maintain a finance email account.Prepare and update reporting documentation/analysis.Support external audit and year-end reporting by providing reconciliations and documentation.Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:Qualifications: AAT-qualified or equivalent bookkeeping certification (Level 3/4).Experience: 2+ years bookkeeping or accounting support experience.Skills:Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.Proficient in accounting software (Xero, TOCOnline, or similar).Good Google Docs skills.Attributes: Reliable, methodical, discreet with financial data, deadline-driven.About Gruvi Gruvi is a data-driven media and insights agency dedicated to the film industry.
