Bookkeeper

Business Initiatives is a Financial Services firm that provides expert, proactive advice in the areas of Accounting, Taxation, SMSF, Loans and Financial Planning.We are seeking a full-time or part-time Bookkeeper who has experience in Xero and MYOB at an intermediate level to assist with general bookkeeping, payroll, BAS preparation and ATO liaison. In addition you will be expected to setup new Xero files including the ledger, payroll and invoice formats for new clients and train them on the software's operation.Our SME clients are diverse and successful and we proactively help them to grow their businesses and family wealth. We also undertake assignments for larger companies listed on the ASX. Our clients operate in a variety of different industries, the work is diverse and interesting and there is a large amount of client contact. We have formed strong relationships with our clients over 30+ years. Our office environment is fun and easy going. Everyone is autonomous and takes responsibility for their tasks within the team.We are located in Norwood in a quiet street on the fringe of the CBD, next door to a cafe and not far from The Parade. There is plenty of free parking.The successful candidate will exhibit the following attributes:Experience as a bookkeeper, particularly using Xero softwareAbility to work on multiple client files in a dayAttention to detailHard work ethicTeam playerProblem solving skillsAbility to work to a deadlineStrong communication and interpersonal skills - ability to interact with clients on an ongoing basisOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsMust live and work in Australia on a permanent basisExperience with Xero (90%) and MYOB (10%) requiredThe role reports directly to the firm's Accounting Manager and Office Manager.A staff incentive and commission scheme exists for staff who introduce new business to our firm across our diverse service offering.
