Bookkeeper (Transport & Logistics)Location: GalwayType: Full-time, PermanentReports to: Financial ControllerEligibility: You must be eligible to work in IrelandAbout the roleJoin a busy transport & logistics team and own the accuracy of our day-to-day finance operations. You’ll handle sales invoicing, cross-reference invoices to loads, keep data clean and auditable, and work closely with Transport Managers. Industry experience helps—but strong bookkeeping, accuracy, and pace matter most.What you’ll doGenerate and issue accurate sales invoices; apply correct rates, surcharges, fuel levy and VAT.Reconcile loads: match invoices to jobs (CMR/PODs, weighbridge tickets, dockets, rate cards).Enter/validate data in TMS & accounting systems; resolve discrepancies with Transport/Ops.Chase/file PODs; maintain clean, compliant records.Support credit control: statements, queries, aged debt follow-ups.Spot-check revenue/margins; flag unbilled loads, waiting time, demurrage, redeliveries.Assist month-end: debtor reports, journals, reconciliations (bank/debtors/control).Provide purchase ledger cover (supplier invoices, PO matching, payment runs).Produce daily/weekly KPIs (invoicing volumes, unbilled jobs, aged debt, query log).Suggest and help implement process improvements (e.g., EDI, data capture, templates).What you’ll need1–3+ years in Accounts/Finance Admin/Accounts Assistant (or similar).Solid bookkeeping knowledge (debtors/creditors, journals, VAT).Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets (filters, lookups, pivots); fast learner with new systems.High accuracy and numeracy; strong attention to detail under time pressure.Clear, professional communication; confident liaising with operations and customers.Nice to haveExposure to transport/logistics/warehousing.Experience with Sage/Xero (or similar) and a Transport Management System (e.g., Moveit).Understanding of Irish VAT for transport and cross-border billing.EDI invoicing/portal experience; customer rate cards.ScheduleMonday–Friday, standard office hours.How to applyClick Apply and upload your CV.
