Looking for Philippines-based candidatesJob Role: Bookkeeper/Payroll OfficerCompensation range: $1,500 AUD - $3,000 AUD / MonthlyEngagement type: Independent Contractor AgreementWork Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you'll have flexibility in how you manage your time.Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. With mid‑century inspired rooms, an on‑site restaurant using local produce, and leisure zones like a sauna, hot tub and games room, they aim to provide both adventure and serenity for couples, friends or solo travellers.Role Overview: This role is perfect for someone who loves keeping numbers in order and ensuring payroll runs smoothly. You'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and supporting the team with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks. The ideal person enjoys attention to detail, thrives on organization, and takes pride in keeping financial processes efficient and compliant.Key Responsibilities: Process and manage payroll for employees accurately and on timeMaintain and reconcile accounts, including accounts payable and receivablePrepare and submit BAS and other regulatory reportsMonitor and record financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and complianceAssist in month-end and year-end financial reportingSupport management with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisEnsure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and employment lawsRequirementsRequired Skills and Qualifications:2+ years of proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll managementStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reportingProficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB)Knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation, and tax obligationsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong communication skills for liaising with staff and managementAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesWork Arrangement & Expectations:This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client workReflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as "Independent Contractor")
