Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage the full spectrum of bookkeeping functions across multiple entities, including business operations and personal finances. The ideal candidate will have proven Australian accounting experience, advanced proficiency in Xero, and strong skills in Excel and Google Sheets. This role requires accuracy, discretion, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with accountants for tax and compliance matters.Job HighlightsPaid Hours per Week: 40Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm with 30 minute paid break | Eastern Standard TimeWork Arrangement: Work from homeContract: Independent ContractorSide note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.Key ResponsibilitiesManage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple entities, including business accounts and personal/family finances.Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, payroll, and cash flow across all entities.Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and inter-company transactions regularly.Prepare financial reports, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.Liaise with accountants for quarterly BAS and tax filings, as well as end-of-year accounts.Ensure compliance with Australian accounting and taxation standards.Maintain organized financial documentation for audits and internal review.Provide insights and recommendations on financial performance and efficiency improvements.RequirementsMinimum 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience for an Australian client.Advanced proficiency in Xero (certified or equivalent experience preferred).Strong command of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, including advanced formulas and reporting tools.Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple entities and priorities efficiently.Strong understanding of Australian GST, BAS, and tax compliance processes.Excellent communication skills for coordinating with accountants and internal stakeholders.Experience managing both business and personal financial records is highly regarded.Independent Contractor PerksPermanent work from homeImmediate hiringReminder:Kindly apply directly to the link provided; you will be redirected to BruntWork’s Career Site.
