Meaningful Work From Day OneThis role leads brand building for the Jack Daniel’s Family of Brands (JDFOB) across all Southern Africa markets. As Brand Manager JDFOB, this person must be a dynamic, creative, collaborative &, inclusive marketer who is excited by the opportunity to step change JDFOB brand growth. A courageous brand builder who thinks strategically while simultaneously managing flawless execution, and translates insights into action will be successful and fulfilled by this role.What You Can ExpectThe role is responsible for managing the JDFOB for South Africa, consisting of:Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7Jack Daniel’s FlavoursJack Daniel’s Single BarrelGentleman Jack, andJack Daniel’s RTDs*The role is responsible for leading the JDFOB across South Africa, the largest brand in the Brown-Forman portfolio, collaborating closely with our partners to deliver volume, value & brand health metric growth across the JD portfolio and, ahead of competitors in the South Africa territory.South Africa Brand StrategyWorking with Regional Marketing Manager to set & refine the long term JDFOB brand strategy for South AfricaWorking with Regional Marketing Manager to deliver investment plans to drive profitable JDFOB growth, underpinned by:A deep understanding of consumer insightsCategory context, competitor brand performance & activityMeasurement & evaluation, enabling acceleration or optimization of investmentBeing a key proponent of the Brown-Forman Brand Growth Framework, internally & externally (agencies & distributor)Ensuring alignment & compliance with Global brand strategies, partnerships & prioritiesSouth Africa portfolio development:Support the Regional Marketing Manager, regularly assessing & evaluating the existing JDFOB and future portfolio evolution needsWorking with Finance & Regional Marketing Manager, support the pricing strategy across JDFOB, ensuring compliance with global guidanceBrand PlanningLead the brand planning process across the JDFOB, working with RGBC brand managers, ensuring delivery of these plans in line with B-F planning cycle parametersEnsure process is collaborative & inclusive with internal cross-functions & distribution partnerSupport Regional Marketing Manager in identifying resources & tools necessary for brilliant execution across marketsEnsure robust measurement & evaluation of marketing activities, leveraging/ requesting the tools necessary to support thisWork collaboratively with Regional Marketing Manager, Area Manager & distributor partner to ensure synergy between brand plans, country plans & commercial activitiesMeasurement, Evaluation & TrackingBe a key proponent for a measurement & evaluation culture within B-F, consistently assessing all JDFOB marketing activities and, determining opportunities for improvement or accelerationSupport in building a culture that is constantly aware of category, consumer & channel trends, ensuring our business is informed & empowered to make decisions in response to these.Fluent in assessing, diagnosing & reporting marketing & commercial dataSupport in championing competitor activity monitoring, with rest of marketing team & distributor partner, ensuring competitor activities are tracked & reported, equipping B-F SA to respond in an appropriate & timeously mannerPeople Management (indirect)Through strong collaboration with Regional Marketing Manager, Area Manager & RGBC, provide clear direction and objectives, managing execution & implementation priorities for the regionClear & inclusive communication - Be able to communicate & collaborate with all levels of B-F employees, locally & globally, as well as with RGBCAgency ManagementSupport the Regional Marketing Manager in deploying agency services to deliver effective and efficient marketing services to increase JDFOB performance & brand health metricsManage contracts and agency relationships, performance, pitching and agency selection where necessary, ensuring fair & constructive assessment of partners, fostering the delivery of more effective marketing activities.Champion brilliant briefing, ensuring all JDFOB briefs (media, research, creative & bespoke projects) embody our BFBGF, are clear, well written and inspiring.Foster strong collaboration between Creative & Media agency partners.Working with our global brand teams, be a proponent of building strong relationships between our local agency partners and global agency partnersMarketing coverage:South Africa, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia, MalawiWhat You Bring To The TableDemonstrable marketing experience either at an ABM or BM levelSound financial acumen with understanding of P&LsSound understanding of market, category & consumer dataExperience working across multiple markets in preferredExperience working in large FMCG or alcoholic beverage industry preferredExperience working on global brands & with global brand teams is desiredWho We AreWe believe great people build great brands.
