Job OverviewBRC Group of Companies is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-orientated Accountant to join our growing and dynamic Finance Team at BRC. BRC is a highly efficient and flexible manufacturing facility located in Georgetown, ON specializing in case good production for furniture. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the finance team with planning, controlling, reporting and measuring the assets of BRC, as well as producing and analyzing financial information critical to business interests. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insights into financial performance.
The Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting strategic decision-making. ResponsibilitiesPresent reports to management regarding accounting data to enable knowledge-based decision making and forecasts.
Analytical review of the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, including the reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers to the general ledgerMonthly variance analysis from budgetPreparation of quarterly financial statements and analysis for management teamIn conjunction with Director of Finance, coordinate and oversee the preparation of year-end audit working papers including assets, liabilities, revenues and expendituresPreparation of year-end comparative financial statements and supporting schedulesWork closely with the external audit team ensuring all necessary critical information is available to themPreparation of monthly financial statements and distribution of accurate and reliable financial reportsOversee the accounts receivable, cash receipts and accounts payable functionsMonitoring cash requirements daily and producing monthly cash forecastsCoach the accounting technician, including review and approval of work assignments and training requirements of the team including completion of regular performance reviewOther duties as requested by the Director of FinanceCollection and analysis of historical data to be used in the budget processPrepare financial statements, reports and records through collecting, analyzing and summarizing account informationMaintain financial security by researching and reconciling discrepancies; auditing and verifying documents; following internal controls; completing data backupsMonitor reserve accounts and investments, and review bank statementsStay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trendsPerform other duties as assigned
