Job Description

Position SummaryThe mortgage loan processor reviews and manages mortgage loan applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is gathered, verified, and organized for underwriting and closing. They act as a liaison between borrowers, lenders, and other relevant parties, maintaining clear communication and accurate records throughout the process. Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesReview and Verify Loan Applications: Carefully examine mortgage loan applications and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness. Gather and Organize Documentation: Collect and organize essential documents such as credit reports, income statements, tax returns, bank statements, appraisals, and title reports. Communicate with Stakeholders:

Maintain regular contact and provide updates to borrowers, loan officers, real estate agents, underwriters, and other relevant parties. Verify Borrower Information: Verify employment history, income, and credit history of borrowers. Order Third-Party Documentation: Initiate requests for appraisals, title reports, and other necessary third-party documentation. Prepare Loan Files for Underwriting: Assemble complete and accurate loan files for review by the underwriter. Assist in Clearing Underwriting Conditions: Work with underwriters and borrowers to resolve any outstanding conditions or issues identified during the underwriting process. Ensure Compliance: Adhere to all federal, state, and company policies, regulations, and lending guidelines.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesStrong attention to detail: Essential for accuracy in reviewing documentation and ensuring compliance. Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with various parties involved in the loan process. Time management and organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple loan files and meet deadlines. Knowledge of mortgage lending and regulations: Understanding of loan types, lending guidelines, and relevant laws. Computer proficiency: Familiarity with loan processing software and Microsoft Office Suite. Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during the loan process. Customer service skills:

Ability to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with borrowers. Self-Management:

Sets goals and deadlines together with supervisor; Prioritizes routine work to meet goals and deadlines; Takes on new or additional responsibility for familiar work assignments. Education And ExperienceEducation: High school diploma or GED required. Experience: 1-3 years’ experience in mortgage loan processing or a related field.
