The building industry is evolving fast, with major legislative reforms reshaping the Building Consent Authority (BCA) space. As a Building Inspector, you’ll be at the forefront of these changes.As a Building Inspector, You WillInspect building work to ensure compliance with the Building Act, Building Code, and approved consentsIdentify and act on unsafe or non‑compliant workProvide clear, practical advice to builders, designers, and property ownersSupport Hamilton City Council’s BCA accreditation through quality inspections and documentationStay ahead of regulatory changes and apply them in practiceContribute to a positive, customer‑focused team cultureQualificationsOo puumanawa me oo wheako | Your skills and experienceKnowledge of the Building Act 2004, Building Code, and related standardsAbility to read and interpret building plans, legislation, and technical documentsStrong communication skills and confidence working with a wide range of stakeholdersAttention to detail and commitment to high‑quality outcomesComputer literacy and comfort with digital inspection toolsFull NZ driver’s licencePreferred: Regulation 18 technical qualification (or working towards it)Desirable: Knowledge of plumbing and drainage (but not essential)Additional InformationHe aha te wariu o te utu kaimahi? | What’s the salary?
