Job Description

The GP Operator is responsible for the following as authorized in accordance with the GP Operator Level 3 CBTAs: Carrying out all work, in areas of competence, in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the Compliance Assurance Management System (CAMS). Assisting in the load-backload operations with supply vessels, deployment and recovery of Lifeboats & Fast Rescue Craft. work boat. Operating, where qualified, cranes and lifting appliances on-board the facility and to ensure operation within its safe working limits and in accordance with the CAMS. Acting as Dogman / Banksman during crane / lifting operation. Partaking in all deck duties e. g.

heavy lifts, material transfer, scaffolding and rigging. Main Duties: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of deck services in an environment in which statutory operational, safety and environmental policies are fully implemented. Adopt safe-working practices at all times in accordance with the Company’s Operating Procedures. Act responsibly and take all necessary precautions to protect himself, his co-workers and any other persons who may be affected by his activities from injury and preventable illness.

Ensure that any defects in working practices, machinery, tools, equipment, protective measures and protective clothing are immediately brought to the attention of management so that steps can be instigated to remedy the defect or take the equipment out of service until repaired or made safe. Perform in an emergency role as defined by the Company’s Emergency Response Procedures Manual and Installation Bill. Assist in the movement of deck equipment. Assist in co-ordination of OSV operations. Assist and attend to Helicopter OperationAssist in the loading and offloading of marine and air freight.

Assist in planning / execution of lifting / slinging operations. Assist in the mooring and unmooring of offtake tankers. Carry out maintenance tasks, as directed by the GP Foreman, in all areas including: Corrosion control including needle gunning, sand and water blasting, spray painting etc. Tank operations including tank entry, cleaning, removal of scale, valves, pipework etc. Process Plant including assisting with repairs and maintenance as required. Participate in RA & TBT’s. General housekeeping dutiesCarry out any additional tasks assigned by Marine Superintendent. Education Qualifications / Certifications:

Twelve (12) years of educationHigher National Diploma / Diploma level in Merchant Marine / Marine Engineering and/or or other relevant qualificationPossess at least Certificate of Competency – AB / Integrated Rating or equivalent with Tanker Endorsement and GMDSS Operators Certificate. Helicopter OperationStage 3 Crane OperatorBanksman / SlingerBOSIET / BOSIET-T as applicableKnowledge: Three (3) years' experience in an offshore oil & gas environment preferably on a FPSO or a minimum of one (1) year's experience as a GP Operator of the platform or FPSO. Basic and intermediate rigging and/or scaffolding principles and operationFamiliar with and have an understanding of the Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.

Clear, fluent and expressive use of verbal and written language to convey information and ideas. Requirement to raise any non-conformance to supervisor in timely fashion
