The Instrument Technician shall be responsible for: Performing the safe execution of the planned and corrective maintenance on all facility instrumentation and control system ( not limited to ICSS, SIS, Fire and Gas system, communication system, etc. ) in a safe and competent manner, to maximise equipment up-time and availability under the guidance and supervision of the Instrument Supervisor. The company reserves the right to request the employee to undertake additional tasks deemed necessary for the ongoing operation of the facility, as long as it is safe to do so and considering the individual's competency and skills. Main Duties:
Complete preventative and remedial maintenance in accordance with CMMS schedule and work instructions, with particular emphasis on safety critical equipment Carry out fault finding and diagnostic checks on all control system/ components, metering system, fire and gas system, etc.
ensuring any repairs are addressed promptly Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner and carry out and apply effective fault finding and investigation techniques Assist the Electrical team in carrying out major services, overhauls and intrusive maintenance on electrical equipment Carry out and participate in Root Cause Analysis to improve equipment reliability Ensure comprehensive work history is recorded in CMMS and any follow up work and material required is identified and reported to the Materials Co-ordinator Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift and crew change Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in cost or time without loss of integrity and present idea(s) to relevant management Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices.
Participate in Bumi Armada Competency Management System Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply it in the workplace Carry out maintenance and repair work, shutdowns, isolations and planned maintenance. Support contractor’s activities onboard and ensure work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with Compliance Assurance Management System (CAMS). Carry out any additional tasks assigned by Marine/ Maintenance/ Production Superintendent or OIM”Education Qualifications / Professional Certifications:
Twelve (12) years of education Higher National Diploma / Diploma level in Electronic or Electrical Engineering; NVQ 3 in Maintaining Plant and System – Instrumentation or equivalent Knowledge, Experience, Skills: Five (5) years' experience in an offshore oil & gas environment preferably on a FPSO or a minimum of one (1) year's experience in the company as a Level 2 Instrument TechnicianRelevant experience on an FPSO and detailed knowledge of control system process components/sensor devices, PLC, Modbus, etc.
