Business Analyst

Senior Business Analyst (Hybrid - Toronto, ON)Contract | Hybrid (Toronto, ON)We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with extensive experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical application projects. The successful candidate will work closely with IT Project Managers and technical teams to gather and analyze business requirements, support solution design, and ensure successful delivery of enterprise solutions in a hybrid work environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the collection, analysis, and documentation of business and system requirements.Develop and maintain project artifacts, including:Functional and system requirementsProcess flow diagrams and business process modelsTraceability matricesOptions and costing analysesBusiness cases and risk assessmentsConduct stakeholder analysis to assess business needs and translate them into actionable technical solutions.Perform current state and gap analyses to identify improvement opportunities.Collaborate with architecture teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and solution designs.Support the development of logical and physical data models, data dictionaries, and CRUD matrices.Participate in system design reviews, testing activities, and defect resolution.Prepare and deliver project documentation, reports, and presentations as required.Contribute to rollout planning for mobile and cloud-based solutions.Must-Have Experience10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on large-scale IT initiatives.Proven experience working with mission-critical applications, including systems such as OTIS (Offender Tracking Information System) or similar large-scale justice/public safety platforms.Strong background in managing or collaborating with technical teams using:Azure Cloud, .NET, Mobile technologies, Oracle, and SQL Server.Demonstrated experience in identifying, analyzing, prioritizing, mitigating, and communicating project risks throughout the project lifecycle.Hands-on experience with mobile solution rollout strategies.In-depth understanding of business analysis methodologies and frameworks (BABOK preferred).Technical SkillsProficiency with:.NET technologies (ASP.NET, ADO.NET, .NET Framework)MS SQL Server, Oracle, and JavaMicrosoft Windows environmentTeam Foundation Server (TFS) and Microsoft Office SuiteFamiliarity with enterprise architecture practices and documentation standards.Core CompetenciesExceptional analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.Strong communication and facilitation abilities, including experience leading JAD sessions and stakeholder workshops.Ability to produce clear visual models, process flows, and data mappings.Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and prioritization skills.Collaborative mindset with a focus on stakeholder satisfaction.Preferred ExperiencePrior experience working within a public sector or large enterprise environment.Experience developing business architecture artifacts (conceptual and logical).BABOK certification or equivalent professional designation in Business Analysis.
