Business Continuity Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Business Continuity & Risk Management Specialist to develop, implement, and manage effective Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and ensure operational resilience across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, communication, and crisis management skills, with hands-on experience in BIA, risk assessment, and compliance with ISO 22301 standards.Key Responsibilities:1. Business Continuity Management:Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive Business Continuity Management (BCM) frameworks in alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.2. Business Continuity Plans (BCPs):Create, maintain, and update detailed BCPs for various disruptive scenarios.Ensure BCPs are aligned with client objectives and applicable regulatory requirements.3. Business Impact Analysis (BIA):Perform BIA to assess and prioritize potential impacts of disruptions on critical business functions.Identify dependencies, interdependencies, and critical timelines to support decision-making.Determine necessary resources for business recovery and continuity.4. Risk Assessment and Management:Identify potential threats and vulnerabilities through periodic risk assessments.Develop and implement mitigation strategies for operational and business continuity risks.5. Training and Preparedness:Educate and train employees on BCM policies, procedures, and individual roles during disruptions.Coordinate and conduct drills, simulations, and tabletop exercises to test BCP effectiveness.6. Incident Response & Crisis Management:Lead and coordinate response efforts during emergencies or disruptions.Activate and oversee recovery processes in accordance with established protocols.7. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:Regularly monitor organizational and environmental changes to update BIAs and BCPs.Conduct post-incident reviews and lessons-learned sessions to identify areas for improvement.8. Compliance & Reporting:Ensure compliance with ISO 22301 and other relevant business continuity and disaster recovery standards.Prepare and present reports on BCM metrics, readiness levels, and incident response effectiveness.Skills & Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Risk Management, or a related field.Certifications (Preferred): CBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Auditor, or equivalent.Technical Skills:Risk Management and BIA executionCrisis response coordinationStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlinesFlexibility to be available outside working hours during emergencies
