This is a hands-on, commercially focused role where you’ll act as a strategic partner to our operational and project teams — helping to manage financial performance across complex industrial contracts.Rather than focusing on traditional reporting cycles, this role is embedded in the heart of our project delivery. You’ll be interpreting contracts, forecasting cash flow, tracking budgets, and identifying financial and operational risks. You’ll work closely with project managers, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure timely invoicing, accurate forecasting, and strong financial oversight throughout the full project lifecycle.If you’ve previously worked as a Project Controller, Project Accountant, or Business Controller in an industrial or engineering environment — and you’re ready to influence real-world outcomes — we’d love to hear from you.What will you do?Partner with project and operational teams to manage financial performance across the full lifecycleInterpret commercial contracts and ensure financial terms are reflected in forecasts and planningMonitor and manage project cash flow, invoicing schedules, and payment milestonesTrack budgets, actuals, and variances - providing insight and challenge to ensure delivery within financial targetsIdentify and mitigate financial and operational risks, escalating where necessarySupport project planning and scheduling with financial input and scenario modellingDrive continuous improvement in project financial processes and controlsAlign finance processes with business needs across departments and locationJob RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or International BusinessExtensive experience in a project-focused finance role within a multinational or industrial environmentStrong understanding of project accounting, cash flow management, and contract interpretationExcellent communication skills and the ability to influence non-financial stakeholdersExperience with business intelligence tools and ERP systemsComfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven setting with tight deadlinesA collaborative mindset and a drive for continuous improvementAbout The CompanyIn 2023, Howden joined forces with Chart Industries, a global leader in engineered equipment for clean energy and industrial gas markets.Together, we operate over 64 manufacturing sites and 50+ service centres worldwide, with 11,700+ employees driving innovation in hydrogen, carbon capture, energy recovery, nuclear, water treatment, mining, and LNG.
