This is an ideal opportunity for a freelance Business Controller who wants to work in a strategic, impact-focused role with visibility across multiple business units.About the RoleAs Business Controller, you’ll play a critical role in transforming financial data into strategic insights. You’ll work cross-functionally to analyse performance, support decision-making, and help shape business direction. This role is heavily focused on financial analysis, forecasting, and commercial understanding—not just reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesLead monthly and quarterly performance reviews across multiple business entitiesPrepare variance analyses, forecasts, and scenario planning to support key decisionsPartner with operational teams to align financial planning with business strategyDrive annual budgeting and rolling forecast processesDevelop performance dashboards and track KPIs that matter to each businessSupport investment decisions, pricing strategies, and cost optimisation initiativesPresent clear, actionable insights to senior stakeholders, including the boardRequirementsFluent in French (spoken and written); Dutch is a strong plusStrong analytical and commercial mindset, with a hands-on approachProven experience working in a multi-entity or group-level business control roleAdvanced Excel skills (modelling, data analysis)Proficient in SAP (FI/CO modules) – essentialExcellent communication skills and ability to challenge constructivelyComfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced business environmentWhat We OfferCompetitive freelance day rateHybrid working model (Brussels HQ + home office)High-impact role with direct influence on business performanceOpportunity to work with a forward-thinking leadership teamExposure to a wide range of sectors and strategic topics
