Business Development & Country Operations Manager (Cameroon)Reports To: Central Africa DirectorLocation: CameroonJob Type: Full-TimeI. Role OverviewThe Business Development Manager will be working for Aptech Africa in Cameroon. This role is responsible for the marketing and administration responsibilities. Crucially, this manager will also ensure the entire Cameroon office operates with full administrative, human resource (HR), and Quality (ISO) compliance.II. Key Responsibilities & FunctionsA. Business Development & Commercial Strategy (40%)Market Analysis & Strategy: Identify and analyze market opportunities within the Commercial & Industrial (C&I), NGO/UN, and utility sectors across Cameroon. Develop and execute a localized business development strategy.Pipeline Management: Proactively source, track, and manage a robust pipeline of qualified leads for solar EPC projects, focusing on achieving ambitious annual sales targets.Tender Management: Oversee the entire tender process, including daily monitoring of platforms (e.g., UNGM, AFSIA, and local tender sites), bid preparation, technical writing, and final submission for local and regional projects.Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, government agencies, local partners, and major clients (NGOs, UN agencies, Private Sector).B. Office Administration (25%)Office Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Cameroon office, ensuring an efficient, productive, and secure work environment.Local Compliance: Ensure the Cameroon entity maintains all required local licenses, registrations, permits, and tax compliance. Act as the primary liaison with local regulatory bodies.Documentation: Maintain impeccable corporate administrative and project documentation files, ensuring accessibility and adherence to Group standards.C. Human Resources (HR) & Personnel (15%)Local HR Compliance: Ensure all HR policies, procedures, and documentation (contracts, employee files) comply with Cameroon labor laws and are aligned with Aptech Africa Group HR policies.Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the local recruitment process for technical and administrative staff, including sourcing, interviewing, and facilitating comprehensive onboarding and orientation.Performance Management: Oversee the staff performance review process, ensuring regular feedback and professional development plans are implemented.Team Welfare: Foster a positive and professional team culture, managing local staff disputes and welfare issues in coordination with Group HR.D. Quality Assurance (ISO) & Compliance (10%)ISO Systems Implementation: Act as the local champion for the Group's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring the Cameroon office activities are compliant with relevant ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001).Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE): Oversee the implementation of HSE protocols in the office and during local project site preparation, ensuring a safe working environment and adherence to all environmental standards.Internal Audits: Conduct regular internal audits of administrative and operational processes to ensure continuous improvement and compliance readiness.E. Marketing & Communication (10%)Local Branding: Drive local brand awareness and visibility through targeted communication.Content Generation: Develop Cameroon-specific marketing presentation materials.Events & Networking: Represent Aptech Africa at key industry events, conferences, and networking functions within the country.III. Qualifications and ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in a management, business development, or operations role within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction sector.Technical Skills: Proven experience in managing tender processes, and HR documentation.Regulatory Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of Cameroon’s business, labor, and regulatory environment.Language: Fluency in both English and French is mandatory.Compliance: Familiarity with ISO standards (especially 9001 and 45001) is highly advantageous.IV.
