Business Development Manager - AlgeriaOur client, an established, internationally active organisation within the Industrial and Agricultural machinery sector, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead sales performance, drive market expansion, and develop strategic partnerships across Algeria. Reporting to the Country Head, this pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape market presence, deliver measurable growth, and collaborate closely with senior leadership on high-impact initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesAchieve annual sales volume, retail performance, and market share targets through effective collaboration with internal teams (Logistics, Finance, Product, and Marketing) and external stakeholders (Distributors, and Dealers).
Conduct market intelligence, competitor analysis, and pricing assessments to inform business strategy and support the Annual Business Plan. Expand market coverage by formulating growth plans for existing territories and identifying new ways for entry. Drive Distributor and Dealer performance by implementing standardised sales processes and capability-building initiatives. Strengthen brand presence through promotional activities, product launches, and relationships with banks, financing institutions, and government entities including the Ministry of Agriculture. Support the Country Head with reporting, market analytics, and special projects to ensure alignment with global business objectives.
Experience Requirements10-15 years’ proven experience in sales and business development within the tractors, farm implements, commercial vehicles, construction equipment, automotive, or agriculture-related sectors. Strong track record in achieving sales targets and expanding dealer/distributor networks in Algeria. Demonstrated ability to conduct market intelligence, identify growth opportunities, and execute successful sales strategies. Experience engaging with government bodies, agricultural banks, and financing institutions. Educational RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automobile, or Agricultural Engineering. MBA in Marketing or Rural Marketing is preferred. Proficiency in French, Arabic, and English.
