JOB TITLE: Business Development OfficerLOCATION: United Arab EmiratesINDUSTRY: Payments / Merchant AcquiringOVERVIEWWe are seeking high-performing and motivated individuals to join our team as Business Development Officers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating leads, onboarding new merchants (POS), and cross-selling a wide range of value-added products and services. This role focuses on acquiring new merchants for Mercury’s payment solutions and value-added services. The candidate must possess strong relationship-building skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.The position centers on acquiring new merchants for Mercury’s payment solutions and value-added offerings. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong relationship-building abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven history of meeting and exceeding sales targets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPresent Mercury’s end-to-end POS acceptance solutions to merchants across retail, restaurants, hospitality/F&B, and other sectors in the UAE.Cross-sell value-added services, including POS hardware and software, loyalty programs and other Mercury offerings.Consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.Identify, prospect, and convert new merchants by recommending suitable business solutions.Manage merchant contract signing, documentation, and submission processes in a timely and accurate manner.Conduct product and service training for merchants on the value-added services they subscribe to.Negotiate MDR/commission rates, POS rentals, and pricing for value-added services.REQUIREMENTSMinimum 2–3 years of experience for BDO roles / 3–5 years for Senior BDO roles in sales or marketing; experience in payments or banking is a strong advantage.Established network of contacts within the retail sector.Ability to identify potential buyers and create demand for POS terminals.Highly detail-orientated, organised, analytical, and computer literate.Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Arabic language skills are an advantage.Self-driven, target-orientated, resilient, and persistent in achieving goals.Demonstrates willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.Strong planning abilities with effective task prioritisation.Must hold a valid UAE driving licence and own a vehicle.
