BI Engineer – Medior (Freelance)📍 Brussels, Belgium | ⏱ 40 hrs/week | 📅 Contract: Nov 2025 – Dec 2026 💬 Languages: English + good knowledge of Dutch and/or FrenchAbout the RoleAs part of the Business Intelligence team, you’ll support BI Analysts and collaborate closely with data teams to deliver accurate, consistent, and reliable data. Your mission is to transform raw data into meaningful insights that drive strategic business decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into scalable data solutions and dashboards.Build and optimize Power BI data models to deliver relevant insights.Evaluate and structure data from various sources, creating and maintaining data quality tickets and metadata repositories.Identify new data sources and coordinate with data teams to integrate them into the Data Warehouse or Data Lake.Develop structured DataMarts following best practices to maximize usability and reusability.Troubleshoot data loads, quality issues, and reconciliation inconsistencies.Maintain close communication with data architects and Data Warehouse teams to stay aligned with data flow and BI developments.Implement automation tools and frameworks for reporting and data-quality checks.Create scalable, automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, and validation.Ensure compliance with internal processes, policies, and documentation standards.Qualifications & ExperienceUniversity degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or equivalent experience.5+ years’ experience in Business Intelligence or Data Warehousing.Strong understanding of ICT and enterprise data environments.Technical SkillsExcellent command of SQL (Teradata / Oracle) in a BI context.Strong experience with Power BI modeling, DAX, and report development.Solid understanding of data warehousing and database management.Familiarity with Big Data tools (Python, Spark).Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows server environments and ODBC connections.High attention to detail and precision.Personal AttributesProactive, dynamic, and flexible approach.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Positive, solution-oriented mindset.Independent, organized, and capable of managing time effectively.Why JoinThis is a great opportunity for a freelance BI Engineer to take ownership of complex, cross-functional projects in a forward-thinking data environment.
