For a better game — and working life.Business Intelligence EngineerThe Data Capabilities team drives business value and efficiency through data governance, reporting and information management services at Veikkaus.As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing and maintaining advanced data solutions, supporting data-driven decision-making by ensuring robust BI applications and scalable data models in both Power BI and underlying data layers, delivering supreme user experience and quality data for various reporting and analytics purposes.Main Responsibilities(Nearly) end-to-end data solution development: Collaborate with business stakeholders to design, build and optimize interactive data and reporting solutions in Power BI, integrating data from BigQuery and other cloud-based sources. Ensure seamless data flow from source to visualization, focusing on reliability, data quality and performance.Data architecture & modeling: Develop and maintain lean data models and guide layered data architectures in BigQuery to support high-quality reporting and analytics. Collaborate with the core platform Data as a Service team in validating and improving data accuracy and integrity of ingested data across data pipelines.End-user support & problem-solving: Act as a key user for defined areas of Power BI and BigQuery, supporting development, maintenance, as well as day-to-day reporting activities.Continuous improvement: Systematically develop and enhance centrally management BI tools and processes, ensuring best practices and compliance with data governance standards.Promoting a data-driven culture: Foster a data-centric mindset across Veikkaus by coaching team members, guiding the work of reporting consultants and stakeholders on best practices in data modelling, reporting and business intelligence.You Will Thrive In This Position If You HaveA proactive and curious mindset with a genuine interest in data engineering and business intelligenceStrong technical and content expertise in data, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in modern business intelligence environments (preferably Power BI with BigQuery), including data modeling, ETL processes, SQL and dashboard developmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailAbility to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively in a team environmentWillingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic, data-driven organizationFamiliarity with data governance, data quality principles and reporting best practicesRelevant education and/or certifications in the field (data engineering, business intelligence or analytics development)Considered An AdvantageExperience with other BI tools (e.g., Oracle, Tableau, Looker)Experience with other cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)Knowledge of real-time data integration and streamingUnderstanding of business-driven analytics and stakeholder managementWe OfferA workplace where the game evolves – and so do you.
