Youll own process excellence for vessel chartering, fleet operations, asset management (sea & land), workshop activities, crewing, and bunkeringembedding best-in-class methodologies and digital tools to drive compliance, efficiency, and cost effectiveness across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesChartering & Fleet OperationsMap, standardize and continuously improve time-charter, voyage-charter, and spot-charter processesPartner with Commercial and Legal teams to enforce charter-party compliance and mitigate contractual risksAsset ManagementDefine and govern lifecycle processes for vessels and land-based assets, from preventive maintenance to decommissioningDeploy digital asset-management solutions for real-time visibility, inspection tracking, and performance analyticsBunkering OperationsAnalyze and optimize fuel procurement, delivery scheduling, and consumption-monitoring workflowsCollaborate with Procurement and Technical teams to qualify bunker suppliers, ensure fuel quality, and control costsProcess Governance & ComplianceEstablish and maintain a process-governance framework aligned with IMO, MARPOL, and local regulationsConduct regular audits, gap analyses, and risk assessments to drive corrective actions and SOP updatesCross-Functional Collaboration & TrainingServe as the central liaison across Fleet, Technical, Procurement, Finance, and Legal functions to align process improvementsDesign and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and documentation to cultivate process ownership and CI culturePerformance Monitoring & ReportingDefine, track, and report KPIs for chartering cycle times, asset utilization, bunkering variance, and operational turnaroundProduce monthly dashboards and present insights to senior management to inform strategic decisionsQualificationsBachelors degree in Maritime Studies, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related disciplineMinimum 10 years in shipping operations, chartering, bunkering, fleet management, or process-optimization rolesProven track record delivering BPM, Lean, or Six Sigma projects in a maritime or asset-intensive environmentTechnical SkillsProficiency with BPM methodologies and tools (Lean, Six Sigma, process-mapping software)Deep understanding of charter-party contracts, voyage planning, and bunker procurement proceduresFamiliarity with asset-management systems, maintenance planning, and performance analyticsSoft SkillsStrong analytical mindset with an ability to translate data into actionable improvementsExcellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management capabilitiesSelf-starter who thrives in cross-functional teams and champions a culture of continuous improvementMeratus is committed to ethical hiring practices.
