Business Systems Analyst

Job PurposeReporting directly to the Director, Enterprise Architecture, the Business Systems Analyst acts as a bridge between business opportunities and technology solutions, providing key insights that drive process improvements and system efficiencies within organizations. The Business System Analyst will translate and analyze business needs, document requirements, and translate to system specifications that IT teams can develop and implement. The ideal candidate will have good experience in tier 2 ERP systems in manufacturing and distribution environments.The Business Systems Analyst will also be responsible for developing and documenting formal test strategies and plans.Key Duties And ResponsibilitiesBusiness Requirements Process and Flow MappingAnalyze business requirements and technical capabilities to meet customer needsLead requirement, elicitation process and design sessions in prototyping new ERP functionality or requested changes including integration with other systemsCompile all business requirements and processes/workflows and translate into ERP solutionCollaborate courteously with different internal units, external consultants and other stakeholders in designing and implementing solutionsResearch, troubleshoot and mitigate transactional and other ERP project related issuesConfigure functions and workflow to facilitate ERP system usage and integration with other applicationsPerforming business applications and workflow analysis, and disseminating technical communications into a business contextCreating user guides, training curriculum, and other pertinent documentation for internal and external partners in support of operationalizationParticipate in the development and execution of implementation/rollout plansMaintain current knowledge and understanding of ERP and integrated applicationsSupport the continuous improvement of Business processes and new ERP system functionalities to support organizational evolutionUse basic SQL queries to write queries for data analysis, validation, troubleshooting, and reporting.Documentation, Communication & TrainingTranslate technical specifications into clear business language for non-technical stakeholders.Create comprehensive documentation, including user guides, training materials, SOPs, and technical specifications.Assist in training internal users and providing post-implementation support.Be an active part of the ERP implementation team, supporting training delivery and user adoption across departments.Quality Assurance/TestingDefine, determine, and document testing methodologies and test strategies for the ERP projectEnsure testing activities are scheduled, executed and delivered following best practices, and to our quality standards, while meeting tight deadlinesLead all application testing efforts by utilizing Requirement Traceability Matrix to link the requirements to testing scenariosTranslate business, technical, and functional requirements into detailed test plans and test cases, and execute test scenarios that would guarantee maximum coverageBe an integral part of the project core team in providing data, functional, integration, performance, and regression, testing.Proactively identify bugs, seek resolution and maintain testing scheduleTrack quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test statusesEnsure all identified risks from testing are escalated and mitigated appropriatelyWith hands-on testing, detect, isolate, reproduce, track defects, and verify fixesLead and set standards for business team members to achieve testing goals and quality workConduct testing of the ERP and integrated applications to ensure they meet organizational requirements and business objectivesQUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Computer Science or Programming or relevant work experience5+ years in a Business Systems Analyst role in tier 2 ERP system(s)Experience with SQL or ERP Data Query/Reporting tools and programming knowledge is required.Experience UAT testing is a requirementExcellent Communication and interpersonal skills, both written and orallyAbility to relay technical information to non-technical usersStrong customer service and problem-solving skills.Aptitude for learning new technologies, business process improvement opportunitiesExcellent analytical skills to evaluate information/data from multiple sourcesAbility to keep up in a fast-paced environment with conflicting and changing priorities and deadlinesKnowledge/understanding other systems like PLM, Master Data Management and Salesforce is an asset.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONSStandard office setting – hybrid working arrangementOccasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlinesFast paced office environment
