Job Description Summary:The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) partners with teams across the company to translate evolving business needs into clear, scalable technology solutions. the BSA works closely with stakeholders and technology teams to define requirements, streamline processes, and support key initiatives. By aligning people, workflows and technical platforms, this role reinforces operational stability and enables consistent project execution.Job Description:This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assignedPosition Responsibilities and Duties:Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to elicit, document, and prioritize clear business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new systems or enhancementsAnalyze existing processes, workflows, and data structures to identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, and automationCreate process maps, data flow diagrams, wireframes, and other documentation to support solution design and ensure shared understandingLead workshops, interviews, and working sessions to capture user needs, pain points, and future-state objectivesCreate test plans to guide user acceptance testing (UAT), including developing test cases, coordinating execution, and tracking resultsParticipate with IT developers in testing changes and implementations to ensure functionalityConduct gap analyses between current and future state processes and recommend automation opportunitiesTroubleshoots, analyzes, and identifies root issue causesAct as a liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring that proposed solutions align with business objectives and are feasible within technical constraintsIdentify and resolve project issues or risks, escalating where necessary to ensure timely decision-making and issue resolutionLead change management activities such as creating training materials, conducting user training sessions, and supporting go-live supportMaintain up-to-date documentation in Confluence, SharePoint, or similar platforms to ensure traceability and easy access by all project stakeholdersContribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis standards, tools, and practices.Foster strong working relationships with diverse corporate functions such as Procurement, Finance, Engineering, Business Development, and ITMinimum Skills or Experience Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field5-7+ years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role in a technology-focused organizationStrong knowledge of enterprise business processes5+ years’ experience with SQL preferredStrong understanding of business process modeling (BPMN), data modeling, APIs, and system integrationExperience documenting clear business requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteriaFamiliarity with systems integrations and data flows across multiple platformsExperience with low-code/no-code development platforms preferredUnderstanding of basic relational database conceptsProficient in process mapping and wireframing tools such as Lucid, Visio, and FigmaHands-on experience with enterprise task & requirements management tools like Jira, Confluence, and SmartsheetStrong organizational and project coordination skills, able to support multiple simultaneous initiativesDemonstrated experience working closely with technical teams, end users, and diverse business stakeholdersAbility to identify, escalate, and facilitate resolution of issues and risks in a structured mannerExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business audiencesProficient use of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio and SharePointNaturally inquisitive, energetic, and solutions-focusedAdaptable self-starter with a collaborative, team-oriented mindsetSOLV Energy Is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAt SOLV Energy we celebrate the power of our differences.
