If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy building strong supplier relationships, we’d love to have you on our team.🧭 Purpose of the PositionThe Buyer is responsible for sourcing and selecting suppliers, negotiating terms, and ensuring inventory continuity while optimizing cost, quality, and urgency. You’ll also maintain purchasing records to support efficient operations and strategic inventory management.✅ Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain daily product ordering from vendorsNegotiate annual marketing programs to ensure competitiveness and profitabilityAlign purchasing with sales needs, inventory plans, and customer fill-rate goalsReplenish stock promptly and manage new product rollouts and discontinuationsNegotiate pricing, deals, and promotions to enhance valueEnsure accurate and timely product delivery by coordinating with vendors, buyers, and transportation partnersVerify inventory quantities, expiration codes, and product qualityMonitor and reduce dead or overstock inventoryAssist with invoice reconciliation and request vendor refunds for lossesSource and maintain freight ratesCollaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and other departmentsProvide product details, availability, and vendor info to the sales teamCreate weekly hot sheets for short-dated itemsMaintain a minimum customer service level of 99.5%📌 RequirementsMinimum 5 years of buying or purchasing experience in the food service industry, commodities, or import purchasingHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredStrong understanding of buying best practices and supply chain operationsExcellent negotiation, communication, and organization skillsProficient in desktop software and purchasing platformsAbility to multitask and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environmentProduct knowledge and sourcing experience strongly preferredTenacity, diplomacy, and a collaborative mindset are key🎯 Ready to Make an Impact?Join a dedicated team where your buying expertise will directly support our customers and operations.
