You will work alongside the Supply Chain Director and other buyers, to help execute upon strategic supply chain buy plans aligned by Ryerson Corporation In addition, you will work with commercial teams on the alignment of supply chain/vendors for customer transactional and contract opportunities. There will be a need to help manage vendor relationships and support existing and new vendor development.Roles And ResponsibilitiesTimely execution of MRP for internally sourced items, outside processed items and external buys as necessaryReplenishment, order maintenance, stock service level review including expediting as necessaryManage inventory for responsible items, re-deploy slow moving items within the companyManagement of inventory investment to a budget and available inventory to support salesMaintenance of material part numbers and vendor recordsMRP element review and adjustment to meet changing demand, processing, and business needsAccountability for project work generated both within and outside the procurement departmentManaging vendor relationships and performance in alignment with corporate company goalsAll other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without noticeRequirementsBachelor's degree, preferably in business or manufacturing supply chain-related fieldAn understanding of MRP or inventory control systems and experience in the metals industry are a plusExperience or knowledge of SAP software is a plusAbility to read and understand blueprints a plusThorough knowledge of Microsoft tools including Excel, Word, Outlook and Outlook, and SharepointStrong analytical, communication, and decision-making skillsExcellent organization skills to manage priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentTeam player with good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of management and between departmentWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation or preference, and pregnancy), age, national origin, religion, disability or genetic information, marital status, status as a veteran, or any other federal, state or local protected class or artificial barrier.
