Cable Technician (Offshore Work)

This position is being offered on behalf of one of our trusted clients.The RoleWe are seeking committed and technically inclined individuals to train and qualify as Subsea Fiber Optic Cable SplicersCandidates will undergo formal training at certified schools in Europe, and upon qualification, work onboard cable installation vessels in rotation.Key ResponsibilitiesSuccessfully complete an intensive training program in Europe to qualify as a subsea fiber optic jointer and tester.Perform precision jointing and testing of fiber optic submarine cables onboard cable ships and at shore landing points.Conduct optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) testing and continuity checks to ensure cable integrity.Assist in cable deployment, burial, and repair operations during installation projects.Maintain and calibrate jointing equipment and testing instruments according to standard procedures.Comply with all offshore safety regulations and company protocols.Produce accurate technical reports and maintain data logs.What We’re Looking ForStrong technical aptitude and attention to detail.Willingness to work offshore for extended periods under challenging conditions.Fluent in English (spoken and written).Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.High level of physical fitness and medical clearance for offshore work.Bonus If You HaveBackground in electrical, fiber optics, telecoms, or marine engineering.Previous offshore or cable industry experience (not mandatory).EU driving license and basic safety certifications (STCW, BOSIET) are advantageous.What You’ll GetRotational Basis: 2 months on/ 2 months offCompensation:Base Salary: Paid during standby/home rotation.Offshore Daily Rate: Higher rate applicable during vessel assignments.All travel, accommodation, and offshore allowances covered while on rotation
