Creates, modifies and controls detailed two- and three-dimensional parts and assembly drawings from engineers' and technicians' sketches, plans and written and verbal instructions.This Role In SummaryPURPOSE: The position is responsible for developing/reviewing CAD models/ Assemblies/ drawings for mechanical/ electrical components and subsystems of Laundry Products. Utilizes corporate CAD design system to produce relatively complex models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings. Manages assigned tasks within scheduled time constraints. Establishes component tolerances by manufacturing capabilities, also as a part of Virtual Product Development (VPD) effective utilization of various virtual tools/capabilities for early detection of failure mode in design.Your Responsibilities Will IncludeESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEffective use of plastic & sheet metal part design guide to Create/modify design conceptsEvaluate developed concepts using Design for Manufacturing & Assembly techniques (DFMA)Determine the effect of change on other components/assemblies by geometric studies within the subsystemPerformed complex tolerance analysis and validation using CAD tools as required by project teamsAnalysis design using DFM Pro & other Virtual tools to deliver manufacturable design. Application of GD&T as per required standard (ASME Y14.5)Comply with ASME Y14.5 CAD drafting standards for engineering drawingsComply with CAD data management policies and design change processes using WindchillUnderstand & review requirements to produce complete CAD models of components/subsystems in the productPlan and organize multiple tasks, normally within the context of a complex project, resulting in successful delivery on time and with QualityEXPERIENCE- 1-3 YearsEDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS- B.Tech-Mech/ BE Mech Key Deliverables Create/update complex CAD models, drawings, and assemblies using robust CAD modeling in Creo parametricComply with CAD standards, data management policies, and design change processQuality Review of CAD drawings & ModelsEnsure expected delivery on Time and at QualityVR/XR application of immersive digital tools for early assessment of knowledge gaps and addressing design issues.Minimum RequirementsTECHNICALKnowledge of plastics/sheet metal part designDesign for manufacturing/assembly (DFM/A)Knowledge of GD&TProficient in PTC Creo Parametric (Part Modeling, Surfacing, Sheetmetal & Drafting)Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M/ ISO standardsKnowledge of Windchill (Must)Knowledge of XR/VRConnect with us and learn more about Whirlpool CorporationSee what it's like to work at Whirlpool by visiting Whirlpool Careers.
