Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Technician with a strong engineering background to join our Markham office. The ideal candidate will support the preparation of high-quality engineering drawings, plans, and figures for a variety of civil, geotechnical, and infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with engineers and project managers in a fast-paced, technically driven environment.Key Responsibilities • Prepare 2D and 3D engineering drawings, layouts, and design details using AutoCAD Civil 3D (and/or MicroStation). • Produce accurate site plans, grading drawings, profiles, and cross-sections based on engineering design inputs and field data. • Support engineers in drafting reports, technical figures, and construction details. • Maintain and organize drawing standards, templates, and layers in accordance with company and client requirements. • Review and interpret survey data, field sketches, and markups for incorporation into design drawings. • Collaborate with project teams to ensure design accuracy and timely delivery. • Assist with QA/QC reviews of drawings and provide input on constructability and design clarity.Qualifications • Diploma or degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering Technology (or related field). • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in CAD drafting for engineering projects. • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation; experience with Revit or GIS considered an asset. • Strong understanding of engineering design principles and construction practices. • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks. • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.Assets • Experience in geotechnical, transportation, or municipal infrastructure design. • Working knowledge of survey data and coordinate systems. • Familiarity with design standards from the City of Toronto, MTO, or other Ontario municipalities.Why Join Us • Work on diverse and technically challenging projects. • Collaborative, growth-oriented team culture. • Competitive compensation and professional development support.Would you like me to tailor it more specifically to geotechnical or civil projects (e.g., foundation design, borehole logs, grading plans, etc.) to better fit your firm’s profile?
