Your roleThe Beyond Air Task Force is responsible for developing and maintaining advanced compression technologies for gas applications. Our activities range from initiating completely new developments to upgrading existing products, as well as exploring innovations together with internal stakeholders, R&D cells, and external partners. The team manages the entire process from product strategy, design, and testing through to operations and customer delivery. To further strengthen our analytical and simulation capabilities, we are now looking for a Calculation Engineer.In this dynamic role, you will perform comprehensive engineering calculations to support design decisions, including thermodynamic, fluid dynamic, mechanical, bearing, and structural analyses. You will develop and maintain analytical and numerical models that simulate compressor and component behavior for various gases and operating conditions. The role includes conducting detailed assessments of mechanical integrity such as stress, strain, and fatigue analyses of critical components as well as executing thermodynamic evaluations to determine system efficiency and performance. You will also perform advanced bearing calculations to ensure the reliability and longevity of rotating equipment and carry out structural analyses to confirm the robustness and safety of assemblies and subcomponents.Additionally, you will analyze and interpret customer requests related to special gas applications and provide expert advice on suitable calculation methodologies. Using strong critical thinking and engineering judgment, you will define relevant boundary cases and operating scenarios. Through data-driven approaches, you will calibrate and validate models to ensure alignment between theoretical predictions and actual performance.In this position, you will report directly to the Beyond Air Task Force Leader.To succeed, you will needAt Atlas Copco Group, our slogan for various positions is "hire for attitude & train for skill". Who knows, on-the-job-training may be available for you for this position.The successful candidate has a master in Electromechanical/Energy/Mechatronics engineering or equivalent in experience.Extensive knowledge of thermodynamics and structural analysisProgramming capabilities (Matlab)You have a very good knowledge of English.
