You will play a key role at one of our remote exploration camps by performing all primary responsibilities in a timely manner independently. This position reports to the Executive Chef.ResponsibilitiesPerform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job proceduresFirst cook of unsafe practices and unsafe environmentReport all incidents and accidents immediatelyPractice good housekeeping in the work area at all timesParticipate in daily Toolbox meetingsPerform dish washing as per Food Safety PlanPerform cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces, equipment and smallware's as per the camps' Food Safety Plan and Covid protocolsMake sandwiches daily, as per directed menu plans, ensuring quality and freshness at all timesSupport food safe storage and labeling of potential food allergy itemsEnsure food storage areas are organizedParticipate in daily Toolbox meetingsWash and replace bed linens as requiredClean and sanitize Dry AreaClean common spaces at work site, TV room, dining room, laundry roomRequired Knowledge & ExperienceMinimum of two (2) years working in a remote camp as a Camp/Kitchen AttendantOrganizational and problem-solving abilitiesGood communication skillsHighly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detailAbility to work a rotational schedulePhysical ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbsAble to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical laborAble to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 - 12 hour shiftHow to Apply:Please submit your resume, cover letter and supporting documents/certificates online at www.matrixco.ca/careers.
