Job Description

We are seeking to recruit a Billing Analyst to join our growing Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing client invoices, ensuring compliance with billing guidelines, and supporting attorneys with time entry and billing inquiries.  The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and a proactive team player with a desire to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee and govern billing processes, including monthly billing run;Review and escalate billing process issues to ensure that they are adequately resolved;Prepare and post invoices and send statements ensuring compliance with billing guidelines;Collaborate with clients, attorneys and secretaries to promptly resolve any billing queries or discrepancies;Identify and resolve any internal billing or time charging inaccuracies and issues impacting bill processing;Proactively escalate and communicate billing issues to the Billing Manager and Head of Finance;Establish working knowledge of the electronic billing cycle in order to take the appropriate actions to resolve accounts receivable, accounts payable and billing discrepancies;Assist with following up on accounts receivable balances;Maintain the highest level of customer service;Perform unbilled and billed reconciliations for complex accounts across multiple service lines;Gather and organise supporting documentation for expense charges;Prepare reports in Excel and assist with special projects as required; andManage, coach and develop a small team of professionals.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is desirable;Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience within a multi-jurisidictional professional services organisation or function (experience in a law firm would be advantageous);Experience working with Time and Billing software (experience with Aderant and E-billing platforms would be advantageous);Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word;Ability to communicate clearly in both written and oral form with professionals within the firm and with clients regarding billing issues;Outstanding client service and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building and maintaining long-term, trusted partnerships with key stakeholders;A high degree of reliability and discretion;Ability to deliver highly accurate work to strict deadlines while balancing competing priorities;Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision;Demonstrated adaptability and process improvement skills in fast-paced, dynamic environments; andThe willingness and ability to manage and motivate a team.
