Job DescriptionThis position requires safety conscious individuals with a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Apprentice, with oversight of the supervising AME, performs grooming, servicing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of aircraft and aeronautical products. Duties include:
Servicing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing rotary wing aircraftKeeping detailed records of work performedConsulting with aircrewOrganizing and housekeeping of the hangar facilityOther duties as assigned by the SupervisorThis position does involve shift work including days, evenings, and weekends as well as an on-call rotation. Work Environment: Work is mostly conducted at our hangar facility in Southport Manitoba and includes ground handling and servicing of aircraft indoors and outdoors as required. Travel to support away from base operations is required when necessary.
QualificationsCurrently enrolled in or have completed a Transport Canada recognized basic training program or military equivalentValid Canadian Driver’s LicenceStrong mechanical aptitude or previous mechanical experienceExcellent listening and communication skillsBe customer focused and work well in a team environmentMust reside in or be willing to relocate to the Southport, Manitoba areaPrevious rotary wing experience is an assetSecurity RequirementsMust be able to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearanceMust be able to obtain access to controlled goodsMust be eligible to work in CanadaWillingness and ability to travel domestically and internationallyAdditional InformationStatus:
