Job Description

On behalf of our client, a dynamic Austrian startup specialized in the production of cannabis cuttings, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Propagation Manager to oversee and lead the propagation department, including the mother plants room and the cuttings room. Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and perform the daily care of mother plants, including pruning, irrigation, and health monitoringManage all stages of the cloning process, including preparing clones for transplant and ensure the production of healthy, uniform cuttingsExecute and oversee the cutting and rooting of cannabis cuttings with consistency and precisionPerform daily monitoring of clone inventory and track new clone countsReport any losses or dead cuttings promptlyMonitor and analyze the success rate of each strain’s propagation to ensure quality standardsLead, train, and support a team of approximately five staff membersEnsure enforcement and application by the supervising team of hygiene protocols and internal quality standards throughout all propagation phasesCoordinate with other departments to align propagation volumes with production needsMaintain accurate records and contribute to the improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs)RequirementsMinimum 1 year of proven experience in a similar role within medium- to large-scale cannabis or hemp cultivation facilitiesSolid knowledge of cannabis plant care, mother plant management, and propagation techniquesFamiliarity with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practicesHands-on, precise, and detail-oriented approachStrong communication and leadership skills; able to train and motivate a small teamHonest, reliable, and passionate about working with plantsFluency in English (spoken and written)Problem-solving mindset and adaptabilityAvailability to start at the Vienna facility around 11 September 2025What They OfferFull-time, permanent contract (40 hours/week)Salary based on experienceFlat organizational structure and a collaborative, informal working cultureSupportive and well-equipped work environmentInclusion in the employee severance pay fund (Mitarbeitervorsorgekasse)Real opportunities for professional development and internal growth within a growing companyA facility located near Vienna, easily accessible by public transport.
