UAC specializes in 2000- and 7000-series alloys and offers a full range of alloys and tempers that can be tailored to a customer’s particular application.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesExercise and promote safetyAssume all tools are hotHandle and store chemicals properlyKnow how to use the required toolsLocate, read and understand all hard card information including alloy, S.O. number and all special instructions for any given lotMake TC wiresOperate the horizontal heat treat (HHT) furnace according to specified metallurgical practices and Process Control ProceduresCan run a transfer cycleMove material on and off tableStage material for the cycleUse HHT Quench programOperate Yokogawa and HistorianSet and verify recipes on oven controllerFollow all process control procedures prescribed for the tasks performed with consistency and diligenceLoad and unload product into solution heat treat furnaces in accordance with UAC Standard PracticesUnderstand soak timesLoad split loadsUnderstand pumps, sprays and spray zonesUnderstand defects and what they look likePre-inspect for major defectsInform foreman of any quality issuesComplete and file all required forms and document workFill out inspector forms (crane, quench, non-con)Perform minor maintenance and PM’s on the furnace and quench as necessaryWork in a team-based environment and is accountable to other team membersParticipate in team problem solving and improvement activitiesSupport and work to achieve success on team decisions and activitiesOther duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum Education: NAMinimum Experience: 3 months’ experience with comparable jobCertifications Required: Obtained during new hire orientationKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesCommunication Skills: Ability to effectively listen and communicate ideas and thoughts to others; able to assimilate ideas originated by othersMathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimalsReasoning Skills: Ability to carry out and communicate written and/or oral instructionsPhysical Abilities: Regularly required to stand, walk and use hands; must be able to lift 50 pounds at any time during his/her shift; the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsWorking ConditionsSchedule: 1st shiftSafety All UAC employees must know and follow job safety procedures, attend required health and safety training, proactively promote safety at work, and promptly report actual and potential accidents and injuries.
