Job Description

Position: Video EditorDepartment: ContentReports To: Manager, ContentPosition SummaryCanucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE) is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Video Editor to ideate, develop, and edit both short and long-form videos for all CSE media channels including the Canucks and Warriors. This person will be responsible for implementing a creative approach to content through a strong understanding of the social media sports landscape and current trends in the industry.

Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesIdeate, pitch, and edit high-quality short and long-form video content using raw footage provided for social media and marketing channels Work closely with Content Producers and Manager during the pre and post-production phases to align on creative brief and storytelling Develop content that ties CSE teams to current events, trending topics, and pop culture in a way that is relevant to teams’ brand and their fanbases Edit with a producer’s eye for making narrative decisions Utilize color correction methods in Lumetri Color or DaVinci Resolve Clean and master audio in Premiere, Audition, or other audio editing software Maintain knowledge and understanding of industry trends and monitor potential social media tools, influencers and third parties that will help enhance department and organizational goals Assist on shoots as a production assistant or manage talent Collaborate with the Motion Graphics Designer to create motion elements for video You Must Have3+ years’ experience professionally editing videos Expert knowledge in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve Strong proficiency in other Adobe Suite applications; notably After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop Strong creative mind with the ability to conceptualize and bring to life a video from inception to completion Knowledge of video production basics (lighting, audio, camera) Experience pitching and aligning on video concepts to stakeholders without content backgrounds Ability to work weekends and evenings as required by the event schedule A positive and solutions-oriented teammate that can easily adapt to changing priorities and stakeholder revisions A quick learner, able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment under the tight deadlines mandated by professional sports Detail oriented with strong time management skills to deliver projects that will go on platforms with global reach Curious and always looking to improve your content creation skillset A self-starter that can prioritize tasks to complete multiple projects under competing timelines Vancouver is one of the most diverse cities in the world and Canucks Sports & Entertainment strives to create a workforce that is inclusive, equitable, and represents our beautiful, unique community.
