Capital Delivery Project Manager

Role PurposeThe role is within the small capital works team at the Council’s and would suite a self-starter who can rapidly become familiar with the projects to be delivered and provide a hands-on approach to the delivery of capital works schemes.ResponsibilitiesTo commission, procure and manage capital and revenue small construction and maintenance works projects on behalf of both Council’s, in accordance with the specification and project programmeTo lead on the end-to-end project management proves in respect of delivering capital works projectsWork in conjunction with appointed contractors and consultants to ensure works are delivered on time and in accordance with project outcomesProvide the day-to-day liaison and reporting between the Council’s and appointed contractors with regards on-site delivery / activity, health and safety requirements and positive project outcomesManage budgets and provide financial reporting associated with major projectsTo lead on preparing feasibility studies and scope of works in respect of capital projectsRequirementsExperienced in managing and undertaking the capital delivery process from initial feasibility and preparing project briefs through to appointing design consultants, preparing tender documentation, procuring and appointing consultants and contractorsManaging the works on-site; the Council is looking for someone with knowledge and skill to undertake this role, with experience preferably within a public sector settingThe role would suit someone with technical knowledge of work-related projects, excellent project management skills with ability to write technical specifications and reports, conduct feasibility studies, ability to provide financial and works related information, as well as management of contractors and conducting site visits
