Job DescriptionAt Silver Fern Farms, we’re investing heavily in our processing network — modernising facilities, improving efficiency, and ensuring every site is set up for long-term success. To support this, we’ve created a new role for a detail-driven Capital Projects Lead to take responsibility for governance, approvals, and financial control of our business-as-usual capital projects.Te Tūranga /About The RoleAs Capital Projects Lead, you’ll bring structure, consistency, and visibility to a diverse portfolio of projects across our national operations. The infrastructure projects vary significantly in size and complexity but this role requires the same level of discipline, clarity, and follow-through applied to the smaller project as the larger initiatives.You’ll work closely with the Capital Projects Manager, who leads our national capital programmes, ensuring strong oversight, governance, and communication across the engineering function. From managing approvals and tracking budgets to supporting stage-gate and change control processes, you’ll be the trusted link between project delivery teams, finance, and senior stakeholders.Te Mahi /Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain oversight of the annual capital expenditure budget, cost tracking, reviewing forecasts, budget substitutions, and project performance reports.Support project teams to prepare compliant business cases, project plans, and financial submissions for approval.Facilitate regular peer reviews and governance meetings, ensuring clear communication, accurate reporting, and well-informed decision-making.Champion best practice in risk management, procurement, and engineering standards to ensure quality, safety, and value across all projects.Ōu Pūkenga /About YouYou’ll be someone who naturally brings order to complexity — financially astute, methodical, and confident engaging with a wide range of technical and commercial stakeholders. You’ll have experience managing capital or engineering project budgets or portfolios in a large manufacturing or industrial environment, and a real passion for improving process discipline and financial accountability.We’re Looking For Someone WithStrong attention to detail and commercial acumen.Experience managing capital project budgets or financial governance.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or Finance (Prince2 / PMP advantageous).Te Ahurea /Why work at Silver Fern Farms?
