COMPANY: Leading Apparel ManufacturerPOSITION: General Manager OperationsLOCATION: Eastern ProvinceSALARY : Gross Rs 1. 5 mnOVERVIEW: Our client is a leading apparel manufacturer seeking for a General Manager – Operations will be responsible for leading, managing, and optimizing the entire apparel manufacturing operations to ensure production efficiency, quality standards, compliance, and timely delivery. The role requires strong leadership, proven operational expertise in the apparel sector, and the ability to effectively communicate in Tamil with a diverse workforce. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee end-to-end operations across multiple apparel manufacturing units including production, planning, quality, supply chain, and logistics.

Drive operational excellence by implementing best practices, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with the company’s business goals. Lead, motivate, and mentor factory management teams and ensure smooth coordination across departments. Ensure strict adherence to compliance, health & safety, and social accountability standards. Maintain close collaboration with merchandising, design, and sourcing teams to meet buyer requirements. Monitor production KPIs (efficiency, cost, quality, lead time, on-time delivery) and take corrective action where required. Oversee workforce management including labor relations, especially within Tamil-speaking communities, to ensure strong communication and engagement.

Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Prepare and manage budgets, cost controls, and profitability analysis. Ensure sustainability initiatives are incorporated into operational processes. PRE - REQUISITES: -Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel Technology, Textile Engineering, Business Management, or related field. A Master’s degree would be an advantage. - Minimum 10 – 12 years of proven experience in apparel manufacturing/operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role. - Fluency in Tamil is mandatory
