Read on further if you would like to join usYour PositionThis role involves dealing with face to face, email, web chat and call centre telephone enquiries, providing advice on the full range of Council’s work including town planning, building surveying, rates, environment and health, municipal engineering, traffic and law enforcement and instigating referrals to relevant business areas as appropriate.
Your Responsibilities Will Include But Not Be Limited ToDelivering high-quality customer service daily through face-to-face, phone, webchat, and email channelsProviding paraprofessional advice on local government services including planning, building, waste, engineering, rates, traffic, law enforcement, and environmental healthManaging enquiries, complaints, and service requests by clarifying customer needs and delivering accurate, helpful, and fair responsesAssisting with administrative duties such as issuing parking permits, handling basic law enforcement matters, and processing Development Applications via the NSW Planning PortalProcessing and receipting payments and ensuring accurate daily cash balancingEnsuring a welcoming and accessible reception area, with attention to inclusivity and support for customers from diverse backgroundsUsing Council systems such as the Customer Request System and Content Manager to record and follow up on enquiriesTo Be Successful In This Role You Will HaveThe capability to embrace an extensive training programme and implement the knowledge gainedExperience and capacity to operate effectively in a high volume and fast paced work environmentDemonstrated experience in providing advice and quality customer service regarding specialised technical mattersExceptional communication skillsConflict resolution expertise and ability to deal with difficult customersExperience collecting, receipting and balancing moniesProficiency with computer applicationsKey RequirementsCOVID-19 vaccination for all employees (2 Vaccines)Willingness to complete a National Police History Check (where applicable) Willingness to complete a pre-employment health assessment (Where applicable)Local Government working experience an advantageCulture & BenefitsAccess to Council's Rostered Day Off arrangementsTraining and development opportunitiesHealth & wellbeing initiatives (i.
