Your RoleAs a Horticulture Trainee, you'll actively participate in TAFE-based study while gaining hands-on experience assisting with the maintenance of the City’s hard and soft landscape assets — including turf, gardens, trees, playgrounds, and associated infrastructure — under the guidance of the Parks and Environment team.
Key ResponsibilitiesUnder general direction and mentoring from senior staff (Supervisor, Team Leader, or Horticulturalist), assist with the delivery of daily landscape maintenance works across the City’s parks, mall streetscapes, and other landscaped areas as required;Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop new skills, including the successful completion of a Certificate III in Horticulture in accordance with the training contract;Operate a wide range of horticultural equipment and machinery, ensuring all tools are kept clean, safe, and in good working condition; andParticipate in annual planning, training, and performance programs, and provide a professional, community-focused service when assisting internal staff, ratepayers, community groups, and visitors.
