Carey Olsen is offering a unique opportunity for a commercially minded, technically strong and enthusiastic employment lawyer to become part of our collegiate market leading top ranked Tier 1 Dispute Resolution Practice in Bermuda. The main elements of client work will be providing advice on all aspects of employment and immigration law, drafting employment agreements, managing and conducting sensitive workplace investigations and advocacy including representing clients in the Employment Tribunal, Human Rights Tribunal and/or Supreme Court.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide technically sound and highly responsive service to our clients at all times and offer support colleagues and partners on all client matters. They will also actively contribute to the development of our employment and immigration know-how and our client marketing and business development initiatives including, attending conferences and marketing events, as directed by the partners, and the preparation and delivery of client seminars and training sessions on matters within their expertise.
The role will also involve some managerial responsibilities including taking the lead in managing junior lawyers, addressing specific performance challenges, and fostering their professional development with support from partners. The role will involve advising our large and diverse client base, which includes many of Bermuda's leading international business as well as the largest local employers and their most senior executives, on wide range of employment and immigration law matters.
The candidate must be a commonwealth lawyer with minimum 8 years PQE specialising in advising on employment law in Bermuda or a Commonwealth jurisdiction; Outstanding academic credentials, including at a minimum obtaining a 2: 1 (or equivalent) degree from a respected university.
