If you thrive on fine-tuning systems, resolving bottlenecks, and designing high-availability strategies, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact on global traceability solutions.About the roleAs a Cassandra Engineer at PSQR, you will design, build, operate, and automate the underlying platform for our traceability solutions, ensuring high performance, stability, and international scalability.This proactive DevOps role involves close collaboration with development teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks across the network stack, Kubernetes, and especially the database layer (Cassandra, Elastic Search, RabbitMQ, MySQL, and ZooKeeper).The role involves travel for on-premise system installations at customer sites worldwide.Key responsibilitiesFull ownership of Cassandra/ScyllaDB operations, including scaling, performance tuning, and schema design.Translating customer requirements into architectural configurations.Operate the production platform, including deployment, patching, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.Manage, operate, and troubleshoot RabbitMQ and manage/scale ElasticSearch clusters.Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the stack.Design and implement high availability, failover, and backup/restore strategies.Automate infrastructure setup and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Ansible.Provide Linux system administration, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.Your qualificationsDesigning, scaling, tuning, and operating Cassandra clusters in high-performance environments.MySQL/MariaDB/other SQL technologies.Linux Administration: Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL.ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Docker, Zookeeper.The ideal candidate possesses a strong DevOps Mindset, demonstrated by their knowledge of HA, failover, and disaster recovery strategies, and an understanding of how Java and React components interact with the platform. You have experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and/or Ansible, and are familiar with Kubernetes and/or Proxmox, as well as cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, and Azure.With a background in SaaS environments, you are proactive, solution-oriented, and a team player.PSQR is offeringA diverse team of international employees, representing 11 different nationalities, working together at our head office in the city centre of Copenhagen.A flat organisation, promoting open communication.
